Iongarde at work
A recent study conducted by the Hohenstein Institute* (a global authority on the development, testing and certification of textile products) concluded that an antimicrobial scrub must exhibit a log 5 kill rate (99.999%) to materially reduce the spread of dangerous microbes.
We have developed and tested a cotton/polyester textile featuring IonGarde that has exhibited a log 5 kill rate after bleaching and dyeing. This textile has been made into medical scrubs, hospital sheets, and a dress shirt for doctors to wear on their rounds. The antimicrobial log kill rate of 99.999% has proven stable after 60 washings with no decrease in efficacy.
We have developed and tested plastics manufactured with IonGarde that have achieved a log 4 kill rate.
IonGarde technology can be used in a broad range of plastics applications, for medical, residential, plumbing and consumer use.
